Read (Dick) Dixon Chandler Jr, 69, of Sacramento, passed away September 20, 2014. He was born in Sacramento on July 30th, 1945. He graduated from Sacramento High School and received a teaching credential from UC Berkeley. He was married to his junior high school sweetheart Virginia Otwell Chandler for 48 years. He taught auto body and painting at Grant High School for 30 years, had a passion for antiques and cooking, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Read and Birdie Chandler and brother William I. Chandler. He was survived by his sisters Judith Harrison and Barbara Chandler, children Tracey (Andy) Dobusch and Jeff (Lani) Chandler, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great-grand child. A celebration of his life will be held September 26, 2014 11:00 at Newman Catholic Community Center, 5900 Newman Ct, Sacramento, CA 95819.
