Regina Anne Redmond passed away peacefully March 9, 2022, after unexpectedly being taken to the hospital the afternoon before, at age 89. She resided in Rancho Cordova, California for 40 years with her husband and then six additional years after he passed in the family home by herself. She was born in Shamokin, PA on September 7, 1932. Regina & Bob married in 1955 and moved to California in 1976 where they raised their son Michael in their Rancho Cordova home, who was the apple of their eye and she always said that he made their family complete. Regina worked at JC Penney for 25 years in the boy’s department. When she retired, she was a dedicated volunteer in the community, including the Cordova Senior Center where she answered the phone, ran the front desk, rode with her husband, and delivered Meals on Wheels. She volunteered for 26+ years, leading with experience and love. Her favorite vacation spot was Mexico and always said she loved the people there and the white sandy beaches. She would refer to it as Paradise! She and her husband enjoyed many road trips across country. Some of her favorite ones were to visit her family to include brothers, sister, and nieces who she loved very much. She would often tell us about those trips, the good times had, and memories made! She always said they had a good long life together. They also loved visiting Mill Valley and Pacific Grove and always stayed at their favorite hotel and requested their same special room number each time! She loved her dogs and had several family dogs throughout their lifetime. The last pet she had was a cat she took in from the neighborhood that she named “Socks” who she faithfully cared for with love until her last day there at the house. The family will always remember her quirky sense of humor, positive attitude and generosity as well as her strength and independence she demonstrated after her husband passed in 2016, while choosing to stay in their family home where she said she had memories to comfort her. She persevered despite the hardships she endured; she always maintained a cheerful attitude. Regina loved to laugh, loved a good time and enjoyed traveling. She also enjoyed good food with good glass of Chardonnay! She was a great cook and loved trying new recipes from magazines. She also baked bread and cakes that we all enjoyed! She loved being a wife to Bob and they really enjoyed their twenty-one wonderful retirement years together. She also loved being a mother to Michael and a grandma to her only granddaughter Olivia. We will miss Regina’s presence here but know she is at peace and ultimately where she waited to be …in heaven with her beloved husband Bob and her devoted son Michael, where they can now be together forever. We love and miss you Regina and look forward to the day we can spend eternity all together again.
