My uncle will be missed. He was a funny guy and tried to entertain me and my little sister when we would visit for dinners with Aunt Dorothy. I will remember him for his golf, cigars, his trips with Dorothy and watching PBS. Uncle Richard had a big heart and great chuckle. The only person to call my dad Willie, that was just his term of endearment towards my dad. Now he is with Dorothy, both had a long happy life together. And both are very missed.

I was his God-daughter and he called me "Lotus Blossom".
Uncle Dick was so good to us as children and all through his 
life.  He was a great uncle, a good host and, later, he and 
Aunt  Dorothy enjoyed visits with us in Santa Barbara.
So happy he had a good life and he is missed.

Uncle Dick would always make my mom, his sister (Florence Berg) smile. Whenever Uncle Dick and Aunt Dorothy came to town you knew good times were ahead. I will miss hearing from him. God Bless you dear Uncle and enjoy your glorious reunion with your beautiful bride and all the rest of your loved ones. Love you! Terry

My uncle Dick he was the man to emulate my life after his love for his wife  for his country, and his wonderful friends who were there for him until his last moment of life,as a young boy I always remember his smile and dorthys how he told stories of my mom starving him so he could get into the service the planes he flew ,his golfing, he would  take time for family something to ponder  I can only hope I will know the friendship  and love  he experienced throughout his wonderful life I will miss you uncle Dick                                                                      joseph peter berg
