Richard Anthony Freeman

Richard Anthony Freeman, 65, of Sacramento, California, passed away at home on December 4, 2023. He was born on June 6, 1958, in Martinez, California, to his mother Sophia Freeman and the late Richard D. Freeman.

Richard attended California State University Hayward and studied business administration. He had a successful career that began as a mortgage underwriter and eventually led him to start his own business as a real estate broker. He dedicated 20 years to his business until his health forced him into early retirement.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Richard had a passion for cooking and enjoyed exploring different cuisines. He was an avid wine enthusiast and loved indulging in great food. His love for travel took him to various destinations around the world, including Fiji, Iceland, and Mexico. Richard was also a lifelong fan of the San Francisco 49ers and Giants, and the Sacramento Kings. He also had a deep appreciation for classic rock and Motown music.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Soledad Freeman, and his son Marcus Freeman. He is also survived by his children from his first marriage: Margaret Freeman Torres, Felicia Cursi (Kyle), and Kathleen Kowalski. Richard was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his mother Sophia Freeman, four siblings, and many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard D. Freeman.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 11 from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Harry A. Nauman & Son Funeral Home, 4041 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento, CA. The funeral service will follow at the same location. The committal service will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, located at 6700 21st Avenue, Sacramento, CA.

Instead of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sacramento Food Bank in Richard's memory.
