Sylvestra "Bertha" Alvarez

Sylvestra "Bertha" Alvarez was born in Mercedes, Texas to the late Luis F. Cavazos and Soledad "Chole" Marroquin de Cavazos. She passed away peacefully from this earthly life on Sunday, October 22, 2017 to be with our Lord and Savior. After an amazing life of 89 years she touched so many hearts with her smile, beautiful loving spirit and grace. We feel blessed for the time that we were able to share with Mom and we will forever miss her smile, laughter and hugs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, her two sons, Robert Allen Alvarez and Richard Alvarez. She was the last of 10 children from her immediate family. She is survived by her daughters, Marie Y. Moore (Jack), Bertha A. Mitchel (Mark), 6 grandchildren Terry, Brian, Gregg, Michael, John & Sascha, 5 great grandchildren Sierra, Jacob, Alexis, Alyssa, Ricky and 1 great, great grandchild, Kinsley. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Bertha's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Sacramento. Family and friends are invited to the Rosary, at 10:30am and Church Service/Celebration at 11:00am Tuesday, November 14 at Divine Savior Catholic Church, 9079 Greenback Lane, Orangevale, CA.
