May 20, 1941 – Nov 10, 2014
Sylvia Bell Parvis, a Sacramento resident, passed away peacefully of complications of Alzheimer’s disease at age 73 on November 10, 2014.
Sylvia was born on May 20, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to her parents Mac Bell and Elaine Kaplan. She moved to Southern California at a young age with her family. Together the sisters had many happy memories of their childhood in Los Angeles, CA.
As a young woman, Sylvia attended college and later became a court reporter where she worked in Los Angeles County for 20 years. During this time, she raised her four children, who credit their mother with modeling a strong work ethic in a loving home.
In 2004, Sylvia relocated to Roseville, CA to be closer to her twin sister and youngest daughter. She continued to work as a court reporter and cherished her time with her family – especially her grandchildren. Sylvia’s passions included gardening, pottery and knitting – as well as simple pleasures like sweet treats with those she loved.
Sylvia is survived by her children including daughter Stephanie Rubinstein and her husband Brian of Davis, CA; daughter Katie Wittwer and her husband Paul of Castaic, CA; her daughter Karyn Parvis of Los Angeles, CA; and son Matt Parvis and his wife Rayne of Los Angeles, CA.
