Tina “Marie” Viani, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away on January 10, 2015 at the age of 93. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Louis. She is survived by their three children, Louis, Jr. (Mary), Diana Easley of Las Vegas, and Anna Juniper (Robert) of Sacramento as well as six grandchildren, Thomas, Bryan and David Viani, Matthew Frink, Tina Hasting, Lisa Easley and four great grandchildren. Born at home in San Francisco’s famous Italian-American community of North Beach on November 3, 1921, she was the first and last surviving child of two children born to Filippo and Delizia Giuliani, immigrant parents from Lucca, Italy. At the age of twelve, the family moved to Roseville, California where she graduated from Roseville High School in 1940. Following high school she attended the Sacramento School of Cosmetology, where she earned her technical degree as a beautician. She worked in the field for a number of years prior and subsequent to her marriage. Upon the return of her fiancé from the war, she married Louis Viani of Sacramento, California in the fall of 1945. The couple settled down to raise a family in East Sacramento. Always a hardworking supporter of her family, she worked in food service at CSU Sacramento for 25 years where she was known for her world class omelettes. Over the course of her lifetime, Tina volunteered her time and energies to St. Mary’s Church in East Sacramento in support of her husband’s many fund raising activities like Wednesday night Bingo, countless cioppino dinners and the annual church picnic. Anyone who was a member of St. Mary’s Church knew the couple well. Tina was a kind and caring woman who always put her family first. Quiet and unassuming by nature, she rarely judged others and always forgave with an open heart. Her abiding faith guided and sustained her in good and difficult times. Her life was a lesson in love to all who knew her. She has left this world a better place. A viewing 4-7pm with a rosary service following at 7pm will be held in Tina’s honor at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd., Friday, January 16. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 58th and M Sts, Sacramento at 11am Saturday, January 17.
