Born in San Francisco, CA, to Katina and Konstantine Makras, both natives of Greece. Toula graduated from Mission High School and worked for Pacific Bell in San Francisco. She met Steve, her husband of 53 years, in Millbrae, CA, and they were married at the Annunciation Cathedral in San Francisco. They moved to Sacramento in 2002 and Toula was an active member of the Greek Orthodox communities, both in SF and Sacramento. She served as the Vice President of the Daughters of Penelope - Artemis #5 for one year, was a member of GAPA, and a board member for the Annunciation Senior League at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Sacramento, CA.
Toula was 78 years old and is survived by her loving husband, Steve, her sons, Gus (Gorgeann) and Chris (Anne), and her 5 grandchildren, Nicole, Alex, Steve, George, and Pete. Preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Chrisostomos Makras. Toula loved boating, camping, fishing, and shopping. Most important to her were her family and friends. She will truly be missed by all who loved her.
A Trisagion service will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 600 Alhambra Blvd., Sacramento, CA on Thursday July 26, 2012, at 6:00pm. Funeral services will also be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on Friday July 27, 2012, at 12:00pm. Burial will be at East Lawn/Sierra Hills Cemetery, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento.
