Van K. Silva passed away on February 18, 2013 in Oroville, California. Preceded in death by his mother, Lila Dye; father, King Silva Jr.; brother and best friend, Barry Silva. Van is survived by his wife, Sharon; stepfather, David Dye; daughters, Kristin Lueras (Patrick), Kimberly Armstrong (Eric); and six grandchildren, Brianna, Vanessa, Hannah, Vance, Jacob and Maddie. Also survived by sisters, Bobbie Baldwin, JoAnn DeVard (Jim) and sister in-law, Pat Silva. Van was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved hunting with his brother Barry, nephew Barry Jr. and great nephew Bryce. Van was an expert at problem solving on computers and could spend endless hours assembling jigsaw puzzles. He was a talented woodworker and craftsman. He loved working in his yard and projects in his home. Van worked at Lucent Technologies for 35 years and retired in 2002.
