Born in San Francisco, CA on September 13, 1953
Died in Sacramento, CA on March 1, 2026
Our beloved Chuck (Virgil) has left this earth to be with those he so terribly missed. To know him was to know generosity, resilience, and a heart that gave freely without hesitation. He would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. That was simply who he was.
For much of his life he lived with chronic pain, yet he refused to let it define him or diminish his spirit. He kept going, kept loving, and kept showing up. Even when the pain eventually slowed his body it never stopped his dreams. When he could no longer do the things he once did he would talk about them, imagine them, and hold onto the hope of doing them again. Nothing could quiet his determination or the strength of his heart.
He is deeply loved and remembered by his partner, Diana; his sisters, Linda, Amy, and Andrea; his nephews and nieces, Dylan and Angelica, Michelle and Junior, and Wesley; his lifelong friends, Brad and Rose; his sister-in-law, Elaine; his Aunt Pat and Uncle Ken; along with extended family and many dear friends who will carry his memory with them always.
Though his pain has ended, the love he gave so freely remains. He will be remembered for his kindness, his courage, and the unwavering way he cared for the people in his life. His departure leaves a deep hollow in our hearts, but his spirit will forever be with us.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary in Sacramento, CA, or to a charity of your choice. The family will be holding a private celebration of life.
