Upon arriving to the United States in 1947, Ron served as a Private First Class for the United States Army in the Korean War before pursuing a lifelong career as a meat cutter, which he loved, for 35 years at Bel Air Markets in Sacramento.
Ron shared 67 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Ruby. He was a proud father of four children and five grandchildren.
Ron and Ruby loved traveling – going back to Asia on four separate occasions, spending their 50th wedding anniversary on an Alaska cruise with all his children, their spouses and grandchildren, as well as numerous other trips domestically.
Ron was a sports enthusiast, attending many 49ers, Giants, Warriors and Kings games over the years. He was also an avid golfer, who enjoyed a round of golf with friends throughout Northern California with members of the Sacramento Chinese Golf Club. He loved playing mahjong with family members and friends for hours on end, often exhausted yet somehow triumphant.
Ron was a regular fixture at La Bou, where nearly every morning he loved socializing with the “coffee bunch” as they were affectionately called.
Later in life, Ron loved to perform card tricks for family and friends. His playful spirit and love of making people smile will always be remembered and cherished.
In addition to his devoted wife, Ruby, Ron is survived by his children, Florence, Dana (spouse Grace), and Michael (spouse Vila); son-in-law, Milt Gee; grandchildren, Madison Gee, Cameron Gee, Marika Fong, Dylan Fong and Joie Fong; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Chuck, Yuk, and May; and daughter, Floree.
Donations in Ron’s memory may be made to the Cancer Research Institute.
