Glen is preceded in death by his son Mark, parents Wilford Berry, Vera Herron, step-mother Iola and fourteen siblings. He is survived by his wife Nita, sister Linda Burkett, nephew Bill Berry and Family, and several more nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren.
Glen was born on August 12, 1942, in a log cabin in Taney County, Missouri. At 3 months of age the family moved to Sacramento, California, where he spent his first 12 years before moving to Clarksburg along with his brothers Joe and Gene, "The Berry Boys," and sister Sylvia. Glen attended Clarksburg High School, graduated in June 1961, while also working for Dan Zayas, owner of Chevron Gas Station in Freeport, California where he met the love of his life, Nita Bernacett, Dan's niece. In December 1961 he joined the United States Marine Corp (USMC), and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant, December 1981. Glen's 20 year military service included 15 months in Vietnam, four tours in Okinawa, Japan, and stationed stateside with his wife and son at Camp Pendleton, El Toro, and Camp Lejeune. Glen received an AA Degree in Business at Cosumnes River College in June 1983, before starting a second career in Civil Service, retiring after 22 years.
Glen loved to vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where he fulfilled his longtime dream of reeling in a 600lb. Blue Marlin. He was a devoted Catholic who loved football, music, dancing, theatre, spending time with extended family and friends, and being an active member of the West Sacramento Moose Lodge. Above all, he cherished his family the most: Nita, Lennette, Matthew, Dylan, Jesse, Jessica, Audrina, and Ripley; they were his devotion in life and they will forever miss their Papa Glen.
