On April 13, 2014, William passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend to many. He was in the US Navy stationed on Guam when he met and married his wife of 45 years. He retired after 32 years from the Employment Development Department State of California.He was greatly involved in his church. He was Responsible for St. Mary's Neocatechumenal Way and a member of St. Mary's Bereavement Ministry. He was also an active member and officer of the Italian Catholic Federation, Branch 236, St. Lawrence, North Highlands, a deputy to Branch 73, San Vito, Roseville, and served as 2nd Vice President to the Blessed Sacrament District .An avid ham radio enthusiast, he was a member of SOTARS, SARO and North hills Radio Club. He leaves behind wife Maria, daughters Melissa and Debi, his brothers David (Eveanna) and Phillip (Anita) and nephew Aaron. He is also survived by sister-in-law Rosario Benaventi (John) and Cecilia Thomas (Walt), brother-in-law Eduardo Bitanga (Lisa) and numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, from 4pm to 7pm with a Rosary Service at 7pm at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 23 at 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church. 1333 58th St. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery and Mausoleum.
