

Yik Wah Jew of Sacramento passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2017 at Folsom Care in Folsom, California. She was 102 years old. Born Tse Yik Wah on September 27, 1915 in a Chinese village of Hom Kai Heng in Hoiping in Guangdong, China. Greatly missed by son, Jimmy Jew (Yvonne) of Sacramento; daughter, Carol Jew-Lee (Jeff) of Folsom; grandchildren: Benny (Jeany), Alan, Nelson (Corinne), Anne Jew, Michelle, Karyn, Jennifer, Michael Lee; great-grand-children:Matthew, Ashley Jew and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Yew Jew, sister Choi Chun, brother Tom Der, and a sister in China. Yik Wah worked as a seasonal worker for 25 years at Del Monte Cannery in Sacramento. She also co-owned Canton Kitchen for 10 years with her late husand. She was an active member of the Gee Tuck Sam Tuck Association. Her greatest joys were family and growing Chinese vegetables and having amazing fruit trees. She loved to cook traditional Chinese foods for her family as well as play mahjong with her friends. Mrs. Yik Wah Jew will be deeply missed by her family. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Folsom Care and Vitas for their dedication and compassion. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation on Friday, January 5, 2018, 6-8pm with the funeral service on Saturday, January 6th at 11a.m. at Harry A. Nauman & Son, 4041 Freeport Blvd, Sacramento. Interment following at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento.
