Betty Sue Jackson, of St. Ann, Missouri, died peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at the age of 87. Her children Linda and Sandy were by her side as she went home to be with her husband Claude, the love of her life for the past 69 years, and to be with her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her son Claude V. “Sandy” Jackson III and wife Marcia of Florissant, Missouri; a daughter, Linda Sue Jackson and wife Karen Newman of Wylie, Texas.
Betty was born on July 4, 1931, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was the oldest of eight children. She met Claude in Springfield, Massachusetts, where both were employed for a restaurant chain known as Toddle House. She took joy in telling everyone that “she had married her boss.” Each morning as she had her cup of coffee, she also enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels outside her kitchen window. But her greatest happiness was the love she had for her family. We know that Claude has been waiting for her to join him, and they are together again, hand in hand. “Life has to end, she said. Love doesn’t.” (Mitch Albom).
