Catherine Marie Copeland

Catherine Marie Copeland, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 in St. Louis, Missouri Catherine was born on November 9, 1927 to Henry and Nellie (Clarke) Trautwein, whom she preceded in death along with brother Heinz Trautwein, sister Evelyn Hatton, and her loving husband, Alton Copeland of 73 years of marriage.

Catherine is survived by her daughters, Pam Freeman, Cathy (Tim Sweeney) Young and two sons Alton “Butch” (Mickie), and Brian (Beth). She was a beloved grandmother to Joe (Stephanie) Copeland, Melissa “Missy” (Tony) LaFlore, Zach Freeman, Donald Young Jr, Kelly Copeland, and Justin Copeland. Catherine was also a great grandmother of six.

She devoted her life to her loving family. She had many hobbies such as fishing and crocheting and loved to dabble in her flower garden. She was so proud of her “four o’clock’s” and beautiful rose bushes. Catherine was known to love all kinds of music and when the moment struck she was the first one up and could dance all night long.

Catherine was also a member of the women’s auxiliary at the VFW Post #4105 in Florissant, Missouri. She and her husband were regulars at the post, they even had their own special seats. Donations may be made in Catherine’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association. A visitation for Catherine will be held Monday, November 22, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Alexander - White - Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 9:30 AM at the Funeral Home with an immediate burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan St. Louis, Missouri.

What beautiful and kind little lady. We danced many weekends with her along with my dear friend and her daughter Cathy....may you now enjoy your afterlife in heaven dancing forever with your infectious smile! God bless.
