John proudly served our country in the US Army during World War II. After his military service, he went to St. Louis University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree. After school, he went to work as an Accountant for a local firm, then became a self-employed Accountant, and helped to found the Independent Accountants Society of Missouri. John was a devout Catholic who was a long-time, active member of Sts. John and James Catholic Church, now known as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta. He even ministered to the sick as an advocate of the church. He was also a 4th Degree Knight of the Ferguson Knights of Columbus, as well as a former Ferguson police officer, serving his community in the 1960s. In John’s spare time, he was an avid reader and collector of coins and stamps. He also loved nature and enjoyed the sound of crickets chirping. He liked to have his Manhattan at 4:00pm every day and loved fried frog legs. Most of all, John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be made in John’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
