Lisa Marie O’Connor (nee Huke), 55, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Paul and Mary Ann (nee Gross) Huke and her brother, Charles J. Huke. Lisa is survived by her husband of nearly 29 years, Charles F. O’Connor III; children, Ashley M. O’Connor and Sarah E. O’Connor (Cobi Tate); siblings, Cheryl A. (the late James) Thompson, Pamela S. (the late Paul) Ourth, and Judith L. (Joseph) Feldewerth; nieces and nephews, Rachael, Robin, Rebecca, Amanda, Tony, James, Codey, Timmy, Kevin, Kristen, and Matthew; great nieces and nephews, Peregwen, Miah, Jordin, Jamari, Skyylar, Hadley, Hudson, two new babies due in February and March 2019; and many cousins and friends.
Lisa had an incredible sense of humor and could dish it out as well as take it. She was a perpetual St. Louis Baseball Cardinals fan, Jim Edmonds was always her favorite (right behind Chuckie). There was no greater joy than for her to have a girls night out with her sisters, rooting on her Cards. She also loved watching and cheering on kids soccer, and when her girls aged out, nieces and nephews then the “greats” filled that gap.
Her friendships were long-lasting and selective, so if you were lucky enough to be her friend, you had someone you could trust, count on and rely on for your entire life.
Lisa’s entire world was her family. She loved being wife to “Chuckie” and was the consummate soccer mom to daughters Ashley and Sarah. Her passion was kids, her own, or anyone else who trusted their child to her care. In almost all pictures, there is someone’s child on her lap or in her arms. She added the love at Christian Family Learning Center for over 36 years and had numerous 2nd generation kids in her classroom, with kids of her kids that she cared for. She always put kids first, to the detriment of putting others ahead of her own needs
