Mary, you will be missed. I remember your insightful comments and calming presence during our book club discussions and your kind words during other conversations. I appreciated your helpful suggestions when problems needed solutions. Although your return to Missouri was brief, it gave you a chance to reconnect with your family and your long-time community. I remember your stories of your adventurous younger years--unique for those days and still an inspiration. Mary, you will be missed!

I first met Mary at one of Mark and Shubhda's wonderful neighborhood parties: Her calm and friendly presence contrasted nicely with the happy din of a lively social gathering.
Only later I learned that Mary was a cherished participant in a local book group, whose members, very upset about her leaving the area, I met at a going-away party. As an avid reader myself, I'm sorry I never got round to talking about books with Mary...

I think the first time I met Mary was at a violin concert where her grandson Nathan was playing. She obviously loved and was very proud of her grandchildren. I didn’t know Mary we’ll but always enjoyed talking with her when I was at Shubhda and Mark’s. I’m glad she was able to return to St. Louis and her beloved St. Louis Cardinals!

Dear Fajfar Family,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with such a special person like Mary. I have many good memories of her. Each time I visited, she always had a sweet smile on her face and always welcomed me into her home with pleasure. She would always talk about her wonderful flowers in her room that she loved so dearly. She was my motivation to take the CNA course. which I completed. If it were not for her, I wouldn't be able to do what I love most. I am very sorry for your loss, but we will always carry the memories of her with us.

We were delighted to live next door to Mary while she lived with Mark and Shubhda. She was gracious and soft spoken and always willing to thank you for any small conversation or assistance. I know she was happy living in Arlington and appreciated Mark and Shubhda sharing their home. She was also very happy to be going home to her home town of St. Louis. She was a lucky lady to have the love and support of her children and grandchildren. She will be missed.

Mary had such a sweet way of accepting my somewhat unorthodox banter as I reached to get a smile from her. She was such a gentle, soft-spoken soul and it was always fun as she, Shubhda and I played Scrabble together or enjoyed a bit of afternoon tea. I was always impressed with her recall of historical facts and enjoyed the little tidbits she would share about her own life. I can still see her sitting in that very big overstuffed chair as she shared another little bit of herself.
My wish is that Mark, Shubhda, Linda and Mary's wonderful grandchildren can imagine Mary resting in the heart of Gad as she blocks God's triple word move in a never-ending game of Scrabble.
Here's to you, Mary!

Mary was a lovely person, and I appreciate having gotten to know her at the warm and friendly book club meetings at Shubhda and Mark's home.

Mary was part of the book club that met at Shubhda's house each month. I always enjoyed Mary's interesting and unique perspective of the books we discussed. We said goodbye to her as she headed back to her beloved home of 65 years. I am so sad to hear of her passing.

Mary, knowing you was a treat for me and for my son, Owen. We enjoyed playing Scrabble with you at Mark and Shubhda's house, and hearing many interesting stories about your life. I was always impressed by your knowledge of history! We will both miss you and keep your memory in our hearts.
