Born December 10, 1934, in Malden, Missouri, to the late Herbert “Jake” and Loweta Stephenson Gulledge and was raised in East Prairie, Missouri.
He proudly loved and served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his country in combat in the Korean War and worked as a master mechanic to provide for his family. He was a member and Deacon emeritus of First Baptist Church of St. Ann. On December 8, 1956, he married Imogene (Johnston) Gulledge who survives of the home in St. John. Together they lovingly raised their family.
He was preceded in death by son Randall Lee Gulledge and is loved and survived by son Kevin G. Gulledge of St. Louis (Michelle McMurray), daughter Michele D. Gulledge of St. Louis. Additionally, he is loved and survived by grandchildren Angelitha D. Walker (Josh Wankasky) of Olcott, New York, Nathan L. (Becca) Gulledge of Kansas City, Missouri, Jacob A. Gulledge of Wilton Manors, Florida, Kevin R. Gulledge of Imperial, Missouri, Trevor I. Gulledge of Medford, New Jersey, and was preceded in death by Austin C. Gulledge. He is also loved and survived by four great-grandchildren, Stella M. Gulledge, Brayden L. Walker, Shelby M. Gulledge and Leilani S. Wankasky. He had four siblings, Billy (Glennie) Knight who preceded him in death, Wilburn (Virginia) Gulledge of Granite City, Illinois, Ruth Grigsby (Bill) who preceded him in death and Sherma (Billy) Moore of Kewanee, Missouri; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2020, beginning at 10 am until time of the celebration funeral service at Noon at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann, Missouri. Pastor Quay Finefrock will officiate. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks national Cemetery in St. Louis County.
