Robert C. Boling passed on Thursday February 8, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born in Mexico, Missouri to Charles and Florence Boling on June 28,1943. Beloved husband of 39 years to Laura Lou (nee Stellhorn); loving father of Pam, Brett, and the late Jennifer; dear step-brother, uncle, great-uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many.
Bob grew up on a farm in Hunstville, Missouri where he learned a strong work ethic and grew a love for animals, especially his dogs Fritz and Bobo. He attended Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton, Missouri where he developed his love for sports; he played on the football and basketball teams. Being such an avid sports fan he enjoyed watching college sports and cheered for the Mizzou Tigers with a deep rooted passion. Bob was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for the Deaf, the Gateway Silent Seniors Club, and the Missouri School for the Deaf Alumni Association. He retired after more than 30 years with Cupples Rubber Company. During his retirement, his dogs, Jaye, Mellie, Digby, and Maybel June kept him very busy and entertained; he had such a soft spot in his heart for shelter dogs, he loved taking them in and giving them a warm and loving home. His greatest joy and success was his family. He will forever live in their hearts and minds.
Bob was a man who was generous with his time, loved to make people smile with his sense of humor, a caring and independent spirit; he was a man that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Interment will be private at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Bud, Illinois at a later date.
