OBITUARY

Virginia "Genny" L. Duncan

September 8, 1958February 16, 2021

Virginia “Genny” L. Duncan (nee Davison), 62, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Frances Davison. Genny is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Joe Duncan; daughters, Paula (Kevin) Rowe, Kelly (Joe) Rosick, and Tracy Duncan; grandchildren, Duncan Rowe, Molly Rowe, and Marcus Rosick; sister, Pam (Ted) Tauser; half-brother, Rick Davison; and niece, Holly Tauser. Genny was a dear friend of many. Her warm smile and caring heart will be missed.

Genny filled the lives of her family and friends with smiles, laughter, and love. The love story between Joe and Genny let people know that true love was real. Everyone knew that she was his “Dream Girl.” Together, they built a life that took them across the country and on adventures big and small. Genny made every destination feel like home. No one could cheer you on or cheer you up like her. She loved with her whole being, and helped you find the happy moment in each season of life. She brought magic to our lives and encouraged everyone to dream big. She raised her girls to become strong women who love just as hard as she did, but her favorite role was Grandma Genny. Babysitting her “Dobby” and doting on her grandchildren gave her such joy as she passed the magic on to another generation. Friends may visit on Saturday, February 20th from 10 a.m. until noon at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Please visit www.alexanderstlouis.com to share a memory and express condolences. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in the form of baking cookies for your family, cheering someone on at a game, taking care of the sick, cooking for someone, teaching someone a new skill, or any other act of kindness/service. The family finds comfort in knowing that her legacy of love and kindness carries on in the hearts of those she knew.

Due to COVID-19 in accordance with St. Louis County mandate, a maximum of 50 guests is allowed in the funeral home and masks must be worn. No food or beverage is allowed in the funeral home.
