Alexander Matthew Bryan

Alex had a huge heart. He was caring and kind, but struggled to find his place in this world. Alex loved being outside, fishing, camping, shooting clay pigeons, and he loved playing video games. More recently, he loved driving his truck. He was born with the love of serving others. He assisted with recreation during Vacation Bible School, he was a greeter on the on the First Impressions Team at Fruit Cove Baptist Church, and he enjoyed serving at Christian Fellowship Ministries Food Pantry in downtown Jacksonville. After time spent in recovery in West Palm Beach, Alex was active in Celebrate Recovery at Fruit Cove Baptist Church. He often led his CR brothers and sisters in reciting the Serenity Prayer, reading the 12 Steps, or reading the 8 Principles. Alex was a member of the graduating class of 2023 at Creekside High School. While school was a struggle, he persisted until completion.

Alex knew he needed help bigger than himself to overcome substance use disorder. We are thankful that he knew Jesus as his Savior, admitting he was a sinner and believing Jesus paid the price for his sins. There is no doubt that the peace he sought here on Earth is now realized in the presence of his Creator.

Alex leaves behind his loving parents Brad and Shae Bryan, sister Lola Bryan, and brother Nate Bryan of St. Johns, FL; grandfather Joe Kelley of Moravian Falls, NC; aunts and uncles Bart and Michelle Bryan of Charlotte, NC, George and Chris Gilmore of Troy, AL, and Harv and Kimberly Key of Moravian Falls, NC.

Preceded in death by grandparents June Thompson Kelley of Troy, AL, Frank Oscar and Jean Daniel Bryan of Troy, AL.

Alex's family is forever grateful for the love and support of all friends and family, including our families of Fruit Cove Baptist Church, Church of Eleven22, and the forever family of Celebrate Recovery at Fruit Cove Baptist Church.

A visitation for Alexander will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 State Rd. 13, Fruit Cove, FL 32259. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Fruit Cove Baptist Church. Alexander will be laid to rest in Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery at a later date.
