Barbara retired after 35 years of Federal service primarily with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She was known for her kindness, generosity, compassion, and love of her Lord Jesus Christ. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a gifted seamstress, cook, and Lions International volunteer. She was an avid reader and read multiple books every month. She also loved college and pro football, as well as traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, daughters, Angela Tucker of St. Johns and Jill (Jared) Fritz of Ephrata, PA, and grandchildren Ryan and Silas.
Barbara will be laid to rest at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lions Club International Foundation and/or to VITAS Healthcare.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life Service for Barbara on Saturday, August 24th at 11:00 AM at the Mandarin United Methodist Church, 11270 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32223.
Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
