A celebration of life will be held on April 12, @ 3:00pm at East Pointe Church.
Betty Lou was born on June 14,1932 in Kannapolis, NC to Ray and Bessie Roseman. She married Thomas Fletcher, and together they shared 63 devoted years before his passing.
Betty came to know the Lord at the age of 32, and her life, along with her family, was forever transformed. Her home was filled with faith, love, and hospitality, reflecting her deep conviction to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. She was a woman of steadfast and unwavering faith who shared the gospel boldly and lovingly with everyone she encountered.
Her greatest desire was that others would know Jesus, understand how deeply they are loved by him, and believe that he gave His life for them. Her life reflected that message daily.
In May of 1988, she and her husband opened their home to host the very first service of what would become East Pointe Baptist Church. As founding members, they faithfully served and helped lay the spiritual foundation for a church family that continues today. Her home was a place of worship, prayer, encouragement, and Gospel centered conversation. Her legacy of faith and hospitality will live on for generations.
If she told you she was praying for you, you could rest assured she truly was. She was a devoted prayer warrior whose faithful prayers shaped generations. She lived her life serving others, not in ways that drew attention to herself, but in ways that consistently pointed others to Christ. She believed wholeheartedly that God was in control and reminded her family of that truth often.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years; her sons, Ricky Fletcher, Eddie (Hiemer) Fletcher; and other dear loved ones who welcomed her into heaven.
She is survived by her loving daughters. Linda McAllister (Colin), Becky Downing (Mark), Cindy Pride (widow of Darryl Smith), who lovingly call her the best Momma and will miss her deeply. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren, each carrying forward her legacy of faith and love.
Though the last several years were marked by the challenges of dementia, her spirit remained joyful. Even as her memory fade, her light did not. Her smile and laughter stayed with her until the end. She will be remembered for her faithful prayers, her servant’s heart, and her unwavering faith lived out fully. While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the assurance that she is now fully restored, singing, worshiping, and finally home with Jesus.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
