Carol Ann Carita

Carol Ann Carita, 76, of St. Augustine, FL, passed away on December 27, 2024. She was born in Hartford CT on July 10, 1948, and was the cherished daughter of the late Elizabeth and Alphonse Gauthier. After graduating from school, she married her high school sweetheart Anthony, and was married on August 25, 1968.

In her spare time, Carol delighted in baking and cooking up treats to surprise her husband. She cherished the moments spent on her patio, wrapped in a cozy blanket from her daughter, watching the turtles and ducks swim gracefully in the pond. Carol's kindness touched everyone she met.

One memorable day at the Jacksonville Zoo’s bird sanctuary, Carol experienced something magical. As she entered the building, four vibrant birds left their handler and flew directly to her, perching gently on her shoulders. It was as if they sensed her gentle spirit and were drawn to her.

Carol was the beloved wife of Anthony, devoted mother of Alan Carita & his wife Cathy of Raleigh, NC, Tracey Gagne & her husband Tom of Westport, MA, and Michael Carita of Creedmoor, NC. She was the loving grandmother of Courtney & Chloe Carita, Anthony & his wife Kianna Gagne, and the late Sydney & Samantha Carita. She was the great-grandmother of Ellie and Teddy Gagne. Carol is survived by her sisters Mary Truelove, Joanne Cashwell and Lori Williamson, brother, Al Gauthier, Jr., and close friend Betty Clendening.
