David Allan Scott, 78, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born on November 23, 1946, in Gary, Indiana, Dave was the beloved son of the Kenneth Abramson and the late Norine Abramson.
A proud veteran, Dave honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps, carrying with him throughout his life the values of loyalty, courage, and devotion. His dedication to fellow service members continued long after his military years, as he actively supported veterans through his involvement with the Patriot Riders.
Dave was a man who embraced life with a full heart. A Harley enthusiast, he found joy and freedom on the open road, often participating in local poker runs and community events. Always taking his grandson with him. He loved the camaraderie of fellow riders and the shared sense of purpose found within the veteran community.
A gifted craftsman, Dave took great pride in working with his hands. His talent for woodwork reflected his creativity and appreciation for the natural world. Nature was his refuge, and he cherished every opportunity to be outdoors.
Above all, Dave loved his family deeply. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose quiet strength and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna J. (Coslet) Scott; his son, Christopher A. Scott, and Christopher’s spouse, Betty S. Scott; one grandchild, Christopher A. Scott II, and Christopher’s spouse, Jasmine A. Scott and one great-grandchild, Evelyn A. Scott.
Dave was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Abramson, his mother Norine Abramson; his sisters, Kathy Hughes and Vicky Hittle; and his brother, Michael Abramson. He is also survived by his sisters, Karla Riehl and her spouse, Harlan Riehl, as well as Linda Abramson, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever hold his memory close.
David Allan Scott will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
