David Jefferson Walker

David Jefferson Walker, 74, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026 with his daughters by his side. He was born on May 10, 1952, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Ruth (Jones) Fletcher and Euine David Walker. A resident of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, David will be remembered with deep respect, admiration, and honesty by all who had the privilege of knowing him. David served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. The seafood industry was always part of his life, beginning with working alongside his father and eventually leading him to found Walker Seafood Inc. Through hard work and determination, he grew the business nationally and internationally while building lasting relationships along the way. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and perseverance.

Outside of work, David found joy in the simple things that brought him peace and adventure. He loved fixing things himself and was a skilled self-taught mechanic. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing, off-roading in his beloved Jeeps, and traveling. He was incredibly knowledgeable with a remarkable curiosity about the world. It seemed there was little he didn’t know, and he was always eager to share a story or an interesting fact. Some of his happiest memories were made on St. George Island, where he spent treasured time with his daughters, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Above all, he cherished being a grandfather. His grandchildren, Jace, Emma, and Finn, brought him endless joy, and he loved them with all his heart.

David’s legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the friendships he built, and the humor, resilience, and unwavering love he shared throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him. David is survived by his loving and devoted daughters, Chelsey Walker (Nicholas) and Megan Helms (John); his brother, Robert Walker (Beth); his beloved grandchildren, Jace Helms, Emma Helms, and Finn Helms; and his nephew, Robbie Walker.

In accordance with David’s wishes, a small private celebration of his life will be held by his family as they spread his ashes on the Tennessee River, near where he grew up, and a place that always held special meaning to him.
