Dennis Dean Lappin

Dennis Dean Lappin, of St. Johns, Florida, passed peacefully at his home on September 21,2026, after a three-year battle with glioblastoma. He was born on February 20, 1960, in Danville, Illinois, to Charles and Mary (Kinney) Lappin.

Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Allyson Dunn; his daughter, Jessie (Joe) McElhoe; his grandson, Cooper; and his siblings, Diana Allhands, Danny (Teresa) Lappin, Debra (Kent) Westfahl, and Donna Lappin.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Lappin.

Dennis was known for his kindness and warm personality. He loved cooking and sharing his creations with family and friends. A skilled woodworker, he took considerable pride in the homes he and Allyson designed and built together, completing much of the finished work themselves.

Dennis looked forward to traveling to Illinois for extended stays with Jessie, Joe, and Cooper. Cooper gave him boundless joy. Dennis loved watching Cooper in school events, baseball, and archery. He and Joe built Cooper an impressive treehouse! Time spent with his siblings in Illinois was important to him.

Dennis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens St. Johns, 1285 St. Johns Parkway, St. Johns, FL 32259, US, on September 25, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
