James Alan Kruchko, age 74, of St Augustine, Florida, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, after a long battle following several strokes in 2022. He was born on November 22, 1950, in Iowa City, Iowa, to the late Demitro Matt and Caroline (Maloney) Kruchko.
Jim graduated from James Madison High School in Vienna, Virginia, where his love of music led him to be a member of the Madrigal Singers. He then attended the University of Virginia where he received a BA in Musicology, and was a member of the Virginia Glee Club and University Singers.
What started as a love of music, eventually shifted into a career in sales and sales education, where Jim worked with tech companies in the Northeast.
Jim spent many years living in New Hampshire, and in 2003, he and his family moved to St. Augustine, FL to pursue semi-retirement and a love of golf. He worked as a golf groundskeeper and commercial landscaper.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Deborah (Scarfo) Kruchko; daughter, Stephanie (Jordan) Cohen; sons: Michael (Audrey) Kruchko and Matthew (Kiersten - "KC") Kruchko; brothers: John (Ginger) Kruchko and Steve (Nancy) Kruchko; four grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date.
