

Julian Fisher Belote, born January 17, 1935 in Jacksonville, Florida passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 90. Julian was an adventurous, beloved, compassionate and hard-working individual who left an indelible mark on all who loved him.
Julian was the son of the late Alice Clyde (Clark) and Tharpe Dewitt Belote. After graduating from Landon High School in 1954, he enlisted and served honorably in the United States Army with the 13th Signal Corps of the 1st Cavalry Division in Sendai, Japan. Once out of the service, he began his career as a proud mechanical engineer. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gerald, Sara Lee, and Alice. His two remaining siblings are Eileen Buckner and Tharpe Belote.
Julian was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was married for 36 years to his devoted wife Myra Elkins Belote and is survived by his step children, Valarie Intille (William) and Rebecca Ettlinger. He leaves behind three grandchildren, Zachary Intille, Mitchell Intille, Eva Ettlinger and one great-granddaughter, Isabella Intille. He leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
Known for his adventurous spirit, Julian was a world traveler having visited over 67 countries and most of the United States. In his youth, he had a passion for hunting, sailing and flying.
Julian always said, “Ain’t Life Grand!” His words and spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.
Graveside service will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, at 2:00 pm (Lane 1) at the Jacksonville National Cemetery located at 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
