Manuel Gonzalez

Manny Gonzalez, passed away peacefully on July 16th 2025 at his home, surrounded by family and friends. Manny loved his family and friends deeply. We will miss his sense of humor, infectious smile and laughter.

Manny retired from the St. John's county sheriff's office with a total of 26 years. He held various positions throughout the agency as a corrections deputy and then transitioned to law enforcement. He spent time in patrol, hostage negotiator, youth resource officer and the motor unit which he loved dearly.

Manny also dedicated his time coordinating events and raising awareness for Special Olympics. He also served our country in the United States Army for 10 years.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla Gonzalez; father, Guillermo Gonzalez and sister Pamela Corl. Survived by ex-wife, Jane Gonzalez; daughter, Samantha Gonzalez and Christina DeVaughn; grandchildren: Anneicia DeVaughn-Johnson and Gabby DeVaughn.

Funeral services will be held 1100 on Thursday July 24, 2025 at Hardage-Giddens St Johns Funeral Home, 1285 St Johns Parkway, St Johns, FL. Burial will follow with Military honors at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL.
