Peggy was born on January 19, 1950, in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Throughout her life, she exemplified grace, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family and faith.
Peggy’s greatest and most cherished role was that of a devoted homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She poured her heart into raising her two sons, Stephen Wardyga (Dena) and Lance Wardyga (Laura), instilling in them the values of love, kindness, and resilience. Her home was a place of comfort, and enduring love.
A woman deeply rooted in her spirituality, Peggy's lived her faith with quiet strength and conviction. She found joy in the simple, beautiful moments of life—lounging by the pool, listening to music, and sharing her creative talents with those she loved, specifically with her grandkids. Later in life one of her favorite hobbies was crafting wreaths, a tradition she not only mastered but lovingly passed down to her family, leaving behind both beautiful memories and heirlooms made with care. She also enjoyed watching and trading stocks in the stock market, in which she regularly exchanged ideas with her sons, friends, and family.
Peggys’s career reflected her nurturing spirit. She spent many years working in both banking and education, eventually becoming the director of a preschool—a role that perfectly suited her gentle heart and natural leadership. Her professional accomplishments were many, but she would be the first to say that her most important work was always at home, with her family.
Among her fondest memories was a treasured trip to Italy, a journey that reflected her sense of adventure and appreciation for beauty and culture.
Peggy’s legacy is one of love, faith, creativity, and devotion. She will be deeply missed by her sons, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private service will be held by the family to honor her memory.
