

Maria was known for her incredible strength, resilience, and kindness. She courageously battled cancer for four years with remarkable determination. A devoted mother, she raised her daughter as a single parent while balancing her higher education, personal life, and career. She dedicated much of her professional life to education, working as an ESOL paraprofessional and later as a Spanish teacher, where she touched the lives of many students.
Maria had a deep love for her family, both near and far. She was especially known for the generous support she gave to her loved ones in Mexico, always finding meaningful ways to help, give, and stay connected. Maria loved gardening, caring for her cats, and visiting friends and family in her hometown. Her strength, generosity, and headstrong yet kind nature made her a role model to her entire family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Miguel Garcia Vazquez. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Moreno; her mother, Margarita Trinidad Pulido Martinez; her sister, Irma Garcia; her nephew, Bruno Rodriguez; her niece, Valery Rodriguez; and her four beloved cats. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Maria will be cremated. A memorial service is being planned in her hometown of Mexico City at a later date.
