Marvin A. Pax, age 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2024, at home in Jacksonville, FL. Marvin, the last of nine sons, was born on April 7, 1951, in Celina, Ohio, to the late Oscar and Cordula (Post) Pax. On January 25, 1997, he married JoAnn Murphy, his wife of 27 years. He is survived by his children Michele Pax, Kathryn (Doug) Wood and Sarah Pax and stepchildren Connie (Marshall) Adkison, Joanna Drakus and Levi Manning, 11 grandchildren and brother David (Marilyn) Pax. He was preceded in death by siblings Fr. Ulric ‘Walter’ Pax, O.F.M., Francis Pax, Thomas Pax, Fr. Raymond Pax, John Pax, Fr. Bart ‘Luke’ Pax O.F.M, and Mark Pax.
Marvin loved his family and didn’t know a stranger. One of his favorite things was taking care of and walking his dogs and greeting all the neighborhood dogs while out on his walks. He was always known to have a “bad dad joke” ready at any moment.
The family will be holding their own private Celebration of Life.
