

Mike served in the Army, 101st Airborne in Fort Campbell Kentucky. Thankfully he never was in combat. He enjoyed jumping out of airplanes during basic training. He earned his expert badges for an M16 rifle and hand grenades. Mike, also worked at UPS as a package car driver for 40 years. He was well respected by his peers. He had a very strong work ethic.
Mike is preceded in death by his Father, David Mayo of Westfield, MA; Step Father, “Red” John Houghton of Westfield, MA; Brother, Gregory Mayo died at age 6 of Reyes Syndrome of Westfield, MA; Dachshunds - Woody – 2022 and Gator – 2021. He is survived by his Mother, Eleanor Houghton of Westfield, MA; Wife, Tracey Lynn Mayo of Saint Augustine, FL; Son, Daniel Paul Mayo of Jacksonville, FL and his Fiancé, Jessica O’Laughlin of Jacksonville, FL with her children: Chloe Lopez – Age 15, Marissa Lopez – Age 19, and Travis Lopez - Age 14; Son, George Henry Smith, Jr of Saint Augustine, FL, with his children, Wyatt Smith – Age 12, Sawyer Smith – Age 10, and Watson Smith – Age 4, along with his Fiancé, Kerri Jarrell of Saint Augustine, FL, and her children, Connor Jarrell - Age 7, Camryn Jarrell – Age 9; and his Son – Trey Gregory Mayo of Jacksonville, FL; Brothers, David Mayo Jr. of Westfield, MA, John Houghton of Ocala, FL, Jim Houghton of East Long Meadows, MA, Scott Mayo of Jacksonville, FL, and Tim Houghton of Granby, MA.
Services for Mike will be held at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home, 1285 Saint John's Parkway
Saint Johns, FL 32259 on Saturday, February 1st, Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 am, with service beginning @ 11:00 am.
