

Raymond passed away on December 27, 2024 after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born in Astoria, Queens on November 11, 1946 to Angelina and Charles Burhans. He moved to Plainview, New York where he met his wife Frances Loffredo. Raymond graduated from Plainview High School in 1964, joining the United States Air Force in 1966. He married Frances in 1967 and resided in Farmingville, New York until their move to St. Augustine, Florida in July 2015.
Raymond spent 20 years in the New York Police Department, where he retired as a Sergeant. He also spent a long career as both an active military and military reserve in the United States Air Force where he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant and having earned the Bronze Star for his service in Afghanistan.
He is survived by his wife Frances, children, John, Diana, son-in-law Beau, and grandchildren, Beau, Nicholas, Dominick, and Sebastian.
A visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens in St. Johns, Florida from 11:00 am-3:00 pm on Monday, January 6, 2025. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 7, 2025 at 10:00 am, also at Hardage-Giddens St. Johns, followed by burial at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond's memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Florida.
