In retirement, Richard became a familiar and beloved presence at the community pool in The Villages, where his outgoing personality, welcoming spirit, and gift for conversation earned him the affectionate nickname, "The Mayor of the Pool." A true people person, he never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went.
Richard took immense pride in the life he built, the family he loved, the country he served, and the faith that guided him. His greatest legacy is one of love, integrity, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those around him.
