With hearts full of love and deep sadness, we share the passing of Steven Michael Holland, who entered eternal rest on October 16, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 30. Though his time was brief, Steven’s life was rich in love, laughter, and meaningful connections that touched everyone he met.
Born on March 7, 1995, to Michael and Diane Holland, Steven was an irreplaceable soul. He was thoughtful, silly, endlessly kind, and had a heart as big as his laugh. A true gentleman, he treated everyone with respect and warmth, never meeting a stranger. He was a devoted older brother, ferociously loyal, loving, and protective of his sister. He and Megan were inseparable in life.
Steven grew up in Fruit Cove. He attended Cunningham Creek Elementary, Swiss Point Middle School, and graduated from Bartram Trail High School in 2013. His community was like family to him, and he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
Steve attended Florida State University, where he became an active member of the Florida Beta chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, embracing the values of Scholarship, Integrity, Friendship, and Experience. He was a proud Seminole and loyal Jacksonville Jaguars fan.
Steve loved working for Bold City Insurance with his mentors Jeff and Lynn Betros, along with his co-workers who were like a second family. He always strived to help others with compassion and integrity. He was also an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed golfing, baseball, and football, both as a player and a fan. He loved hunting, fishing, playing video games, watching movies, and most of all, spending time with friends. He found joy in making others happy. His love for his family and those around him was immeasurable.
Steve was recently married to the love of his life and best friend Mary Kate “MK” Weaver. They share a bond that radiated joy and warmth to everyone around them. Though married for only seven months, their time together was filled with laughter, adventure, and deep companionship. They cherished their visits to Walt Disney World, where their shared sense of wonder and playfulness came alive. At home, they found joy in building LEGO creations, cuddling with their beloved cats Zeus and Goose, and spending time with their close-knit circle of friends—a group that had flourished since high school and remained a constant source of support and fun. They shared countless laughs and unforgettable memories with dear friends like Titus, Chuck, Ellen, Gaby, Tygart, Austin, Michael, and Megan, all of whom cherished his warmth and unwavering friendship. Whether playing games, attending sports events, or simply hanging out, MK and Steve embraced life together with love, creativity, and a spirit of togetherness that touched all who knew them. Steve’s unexpected passing leaves a profound void, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to witness the beautiful life he shared with MK. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always celebrated.
He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Kate “MK” Weaver; parents Michael and Diane Holland; grandparents Richard Dixon and Thomas and Nancy Holland; in-laws Tom and Susan Weaver; sister Megan Holland; aunts Janet McMurtray and Susan Duke (Jimmy); uncles Robert Holland (Shannon) and Daniel Holland (Gina); and a host of loving family, friends, and fraternity brothers who will forever carry his memory.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Wanda Dixon and uncle Jimmy Duke.
A celebration of his life will begin with a visitation on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 5:00–6:00 PM, with funeral services to follow at 6:00 PM, at Hardage-Giddens St. Johns Funeral Home, 1285 St. Johns Parkway, St. Johns, Florida 32259. All are welcome. Please wear your favorite Jaguar or FSU attire, your favorite Hawaiian shirt, or anything that reminds you of Steven.
“A young man gone too soon, but his kindness, laughter, and love will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.”
