Born on November 7, 1964 on Staten Island, NY, Bill spent his childhood in Wilmington, Delaware, Crown Point, Indiana, Memphis, Tennessee, and Wilmington again. After graduating Brandywine High School and Capitol College, he moved to Jacksonville in 1988 to work in the aviation simulator field. He retired from a long career in the industry as a vice-president at LSI.
Bill's interest in electronics began in elementary school by building Heathkit radios and other equipment with his father. It was a short hop to building equipment to support a growing enthusiasm and eventually a lifelong passion for guitars and making music.
Even more than his music, Bill loved his family. He was a great husband, father, and friend. He was a kind man with a big heart. He was sharp and funny and skilled, building a new computer system as easily as tying on a new fishing lure.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Viktoria; his daughter, Stephanie Willette (Ryan Mielech); his stepson, Sergiy Lytvynenko (Danielle); his stepdaughter, Dasha Lytvynenko and her daughter Genavieve (Ryan Hazouri); his mother, Barbara Willette; and his sister, Diane Willette (Brian Cox). He was preceded in death by his father, David J. Willette.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hardage-Giddens St Johns Funeral Home, 1285 St Johns Parkway, St. Johns, Florida 32259, on July 18, 2026, at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, Bill’s family suggests donations to the charity of your choice in his memory.
