Hill, Betty Jane (nee: Gant) of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, born January 21, 1936 passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, October 2, 2020. Betty is survived by her loving husband, Thomas H. Hill. She was a wonderful mother to Terri (Mike) Chier and Nina (Eric) Zinn, and a loving step-mother to Marie (Joe) Kernell, the late Terri Olsen (Mickey), Michelle (Ken) Kelsay and Scott (Valery) Hill. She was sister to Brenda (Alfred) Miller and Lovell Gant. Beloved aunt, cousin, sister-in-law and friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ragal (Minta, nee: McDaniel) Gant, sisters Bonnie Jean Hauck and Beverly Donovan, and brother Lindell Gant.

Betty adored all of her grandchildren – Lindsey (Andy) Finnell, Michael (Madison) Chier, Jason and Sarah Zinn, Haley Kernell, Joel, Noah, Zachary and Levi Kelsay and Juliette Hill. She was lucky enough to have four great-grandchildren, Louis, Emersyn, Charles and Alexandra.

She loved nothing more than spending time with family. She led an active life with travel, enjoyed cooking, decorating and golf, but most importantly loved to read and listen to music.

Tom and Betty, as well as their children, are very appreciative to the staff at Delmar Gardens of O’Fallon, MO. They loved her dearly and spoke of her kind and friendly disposition. Rarely did she complain in the years there. She will always be an inspiration to us as she showed courage and dignity.

Betty will be remembered for her loving devotion to her family and friends, her gift of joy and how to find it in small things, and her natural beauty with her hair perfect and nails manicured. She had a fun-loving nature, a keen intuitiveness, a sense of humor and a generous, kind and caring spirit.

A private, family-only memorial service at Hoffmeister South County Chapel will take place Saturday, October 17, 2020 followed by private inurnment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, both at 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, MO 63125

It has been my great joy to have known Betty and to have spent these last five-plus years with her, sharing her life stories, her hopes and her prayers. She is the most beautiful, generous, kind-hearted and sweet spirited lady I have ever known. It was a joy to be with her and I always left her room feeling blessed. It saddens me so much to realize I will never be with her again this side of Heaven, but I rejoice that she is now singing and dancing and praising her Lord. I love you Betty and will miss you terribly. Sadly, Covid stole so much time from us. To Dr. Tom and her family, may the Lord and all His angels bless and comfort your hearts, as we have lost one of God's most precious jewels. Nancy Lane

Years ago, during a seminar with Dr. Hill, he asked us to choose someone we would like to meet. I was so influenced by the experience , I thought I would love to meet with his wife whom he spoke so lovingly about and credited with so much. I met Betty on three occasions and was deeply touched by her grace, poise, love of life, wisdom and inner/outer beauty. I cherish those visits. Sending prayers and thoughts of love, peace and comfort to Dr. Hill and his family. God bless.
