Frederic Fred Karl Remmy Sr.

Surrounded by his loving family, Fred passed peacefully Sat. Aug.14, 2010 at the Missouri Veterans Home after a long battle with Lewy Body Disease. The son of the late Frederick Carl and Marie Remmy, Fred was born in Verona, PA on Feb 23, 1937 where he lived until he entered the U of Miami on a football scholarship. After graduation in 1960, he became an Officer in the USCG where he served as Athletic Officer and Football Coach. His 40 year coaching career included coaching football at several universities including Washington University, Brown, Northwestern, University of Miami, and local high schools. He is survived by his wife, Patricia McCollum Remmy, son Rick of Jupiter, FL, daughter Stacy Fitzhenry (Dan), and two grandchildren, Molly and Cole of Springfield, IL. Services: Visitation at 11:00 am. Friday, Aug 20 at Kriegshauser West Mortuary, 9450 Olive Blvd with a Memorial Service at 11:45AM followed by burial with Honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
