

BRAUN, Karl Elmer, 73 of St. Louis, MO died peacefully on December 19, 2014. Loving husband of 50 years to Phyllis (nee Ferrell); Beloved father of Duane Braun; loving brother of Karlyn (Hugh) May, dear grandfather of Brittani Braun and Olivia Braun; loving great grandfather of Riley Allen; dear uncle, cousin and friend too many.
Karl served six years in the Missouri National Guard. He graduated from the Career Beauty School to be a hair dresser. Later he worked at Chrysler in the paint shop of the Fenton Auto Assembly Plant and was a member of the UAW Local 136 before retiring. Karl was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. After relocating he became a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He had been a volunteer with the Cub Scouts and volunteered for the Civil Air Patrol for 10 years flying a number of search and rescue missions. He had a passion for flying and that led him to building model airplanes He was a man of many talents and after taking a lesson or two could do just about anything. Karl was a natural born artist. He enjoyed oil painting and working in leather crafts. He also played guitar. He will be greatly missed by his friends and especially family.
Visitation 9:00 am to 11:30 am, Saturday, December 27 at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd. Funeral service in the funeral home chapel following the visitation.
