Asleep in Jesus, Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the age of 87. Loving husband of Catherine Tetley Pruehsner (nee Oehmen) and the late Elizabeth J. Pruehsner (nee Boll); Beloved son of the late Theodore E. Pruehsner and the late Olga Pruehsner (nee Kuhlenengelken); Devoted father of Judith (Ralph) Baker and James R. Pruehsner; Dearest grandfather of Deborah Engle and Rebecca Engle; Dear step-father, brother in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Pruehsner and Elmer Pruehsner. A veteran of World War II, Raymond proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Hinsdale and saw heavy action at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Raymond was a long time member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and immensely enjoyed working the church’s annual pork sausage dinner as well as bowling in the Gethsemane Couples League for well over forty years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
