IN THE CARE OF
Kriegshauser Mortuary-West Chapel
Trisha Marie Tschopp, daughter of Brian and Marie Tschopp, sister of Jesse (and Molly) Tschopp, and partner to the love of her life Danny Cassimatis, passed away quietly on December 6, 2021 in St. Louis, Missouri. Trisha was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in April of this year. For over eight months, she persevered with grace and a sense of humor, always looking forward with a sense of optimism. The strength with which she approached this turn in life is nothing short of remarkable. Surrounded by Danny and her parents she quietly let go, having said her goodbyes and expressed her love and gratitude for the life and people she held so dear. She was person who had a wonderful wit and a passion to learn new things. She was a terrific knitter, a lover of the outdoors (especially rock climbing), and long walks and hikes with her dog, Mr. Biscuits.
Born in Rock Island, IL and raised in Sherrard, IL Trisha loved school. She was currently a PhD candidate in History and Science Studies at the University of California, San Diego. Her work explored the relationship of science and Arab society in early twentieth-century Palestine. She could speak Hebrew and Arabic. Her education included: General Studies, Black Hawk Community College (1999); B.A. English, Religion, Augustana College (2004); M.A. Jewish Studies, Hebrew College (2008); M.P.S. International Development, Cornell University (2015); C.Phil. History and Science Studies, UC San Diego (2020). She has traveled to England, Ireland, India, Egypt, and Israel for her studies. Trisha’s life and accomplishments were a source of pride to her mom and dad. She never stopped wanting to learn and having the ability to share knowledge with others.
Thank you to Dr. Pusic and the staff at Barnes Jewish and Evelyn’s House for taking special care of Trisha.
