Saturday, March 5, 2022....as the sun set on another of God's glorious days, a sweet and gentle soul, Beverly Verret Lasseigne, closed her eyes to this earthly life and entered into her eternal glory. At her passing, she was 86.
Beverly was born January 25, 1936 in St. Martinville to the late Rives Verret, Sr. and the late Armide Latiolais Verret and was one of nine children born to that union. Beverly has always been a proud homemaker, dedicating her time to the care of her husband, children and home. She and her husband traveled extensively around the world during his time with the military and his work overseas. She also enjoyed camping with Kerry and Yogi around the Acadiana area.
When she wanted to wind down and relax, Beverly spent time making dolls and crafts, working crossword puzzles, or just calling her family and friends to keep in touch and catch up on each other’s lives. Above all, her greatest love was that of her family. Her sweet smile and beautiful heart will forever be remembered, and will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Rest well for we will one day be reunited.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Kerry Dauphine (Yogi), Kelly Lasseigne (Dale) and Kimmy Lasseigne (Angela); her grandchildren, Kyle Dauphine (Paige), Kody Dauphine (Kiana), Kenna Lasseigne, Olivia Marie Lasseigne, Krystal Derouen (Sean), Kasey Lasseigne and KJ Lasseigne (Sierre); a host of great grandchildren; and her sisters, Carolyn Lasseigne and Veronica Verret.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Joseph Lasseigne, Jr.; her brothers, Rives Verret, Jr., Woodrow Verret and George Verret; and her sisters, Jeanette Mier and 2 infant sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Beverly's life will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at St. Rita Catholic Church. Fr. Bill Melancon will be the celebrant. Following the mass, Beverly will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Dion Hall in Catahoula on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Rosary being prayed at 6:30 pm. Visiting hours will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am dismissal.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Kelly Lasseigne, Yogi Dauphine, Kyle Dauphine, Rilius “Tookie” Verret, Ferril Verret and Vernon Verret. Honorary pallbearers are Kody Dauphine and Koi Dauphine.
