CATAHOULA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Elaine Robin Boudreaux at 2:00 pm Monday, January 1, 2018 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Fr. Richard Fabre will be the celebrant. Mrs. Boudreaux will be laid to rest at Lady of the Lake Mausoleum immediately following the mass.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Dion Hall in Catahoula on Monday from 9:00 am until 1:45 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 1:15 pm.
Elaine was born November 19, 1939 in Henderson to the late Weston J. Robin and the late Azelima “Tut” McGee Robin. She passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was 78.
Mrs. Boudreaux was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary and gave of her time to her church and community. Elaine served as the CCD Coordinator and taught religion for over 30 years, and was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Some of her pastimes were reading spiritual and medical books, and taking care of her cats. She leaves a legacy of love and devotion that will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Alexson L. Boudreaux, Sr.; her eight children, Karl Boudreaux and wife Karen, Glynis Robichaux and husband Dr. Lonnie Robichaux,, Ellen Latiolais and husband Cleven, Melanie Landry and husband Leland, Carrie Faucheaux and husband Stacy, Jeanne Camden and husband Ray, Elizabeth Chataignier and husband Charles, and Alexson Boudreaux, Jr.; 26 grandchildren, Blair Boudreaux, Dr. Andrew Robichaux (Krista), Michael Robichaux (Candace), Taylor Robichaux, Samuel Robichaux, Darci Latiolais, Cassi Gauthier (Jonah), Emily Latiolais, Cleven John Latiolais, Adam Landry, William Landry (Zoe), Matthew Faucheaux (Stephanie), Hali Faucheaux, John Faucheaux, Jacob, Lynn, Noah, Jane, Maisie, Carol and Weston Camden, Andrea, Gabrielle, Katelyn and Charlie Chataignier, and Ethan Boudreaux; numerous great grandchildren; and her sisters, Liza Periou, Yvonne Guidry, Kathryn Wyble and Charlene Robin.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Robichaux; and granddaughter, Kelly Camden; and her brothers, Early and Donald Robin.
Mrs. Boudreaux’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made in Elaine’s name to the Carmelite Monastery, 1250 Carmel Drive, Lafayette, LA 70501.
