Barri Cohen – of Los Angeles, CA, entered into rest on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at the age of 66. Barri grew up in Swampscott and graduated from Swampscott High School. He moved to Los Angeles, CA to advance his music career. He was a professional and published Reggae singer and songwriter, releasing two albums, Love Light Shining and Body Moves. Barri devoted his life to his music and messianic spirituality. He made his living teaching guitar and was a mentor to aspiring Los Angeles area reggae musicians. Barri will be deeply missed by the music community.
Before his passing Barri chose to donate his savings to Hillsdale College and St. Jude Hospital.
Barri was predeceased by his parents Sumner and Leatryce (Rosenthal) Cohen and his brother Larry Cohen.
Barri is survived by his surrogate family Constantine “Chuck” and Lindsey Tsiamis and their children John, Alexandra and Louisa and his dear friend Dr. Mort Barke.
Funeral Services will be private due regulations imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.
