Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Bernard and Jenny (Karelitz) Zion.
Prior to his retirement, he was the owner of Salem Suede which he operated for over 50 years.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children: H. Lewis Zion of Acworth, GA, David Zion of Marblehead, Alexandra Zion Britt of San Francisco, CA and the late Beth Zion. He was the brother to Alma Shapiro of Scottsdale, AZ and the late Lois Berman, Wesley Zion and Myrel Zion. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services at the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St. Salem on Sunday at 1:00PM. Interment following at Maple Hill Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial Observance at his late residence on Sunday from 4-8PM. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be sent to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
