Alexander Sokol, of Marblehead, entered into rest on September 8 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Jana Sokol. Devoted father of Julius and Jessica Sokol. Cherished grandfather of Mikhail, Annabelle, and Samson Sokol. Loving brother of Natasha Kerzner. Dear son of the late Vladimir and Ella Sokolovsky.
Alexander grew up in Russia and came to America, where he built a life and raised his family in Swampscott and Marblehead. He was a software engineer by profession and a lifelong learner at heart with a love of mathematics, finance, and investing. He was often the most knowledgeable person in the room, not because he wanted to prove it, but because he was genuinely curious about the world and loved sharing what he knew with others.
Alexander was an avid reader, a lover of politics, traveling, classic rock, and a proud American. He loved nothing more than a good conversation and the opportunity to share his views while hearing what others thought. He was known for his optimism, generosity, and genuine interest in the people around him.
In his later years, he loved spending time at home and in the pool in Florida, which he opened to others. He wanted the people he loved to enjoy what he had.
Above all, Alexander cherished his family and friends. He was extraordinarily generous with his time and whatever he had. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A funeral service for Alexander will be held on September 10, 2026, at 1 PM at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel (10 Vinnin Street, Salem, M.A. 01970), with interment at Temple Israel Cemetery (506 Lowell Street, Peabody, M.A. 01960).
